"No man is a failure who has friends"

After watching the movie, "It's a Wonderful Life," I began to notice all the good in my own life. I also started to realize that there are many people in this world and in our own communities that need help realizing how influential they are as individuals.
In the film "It's a Wonderful Life", the main charactor George Bailey has it all. A good family, nice job, and a city that loves him. George spends his whole life giving. He helps those in his community who are struggling economically. He even saves the town from the villian Mr. Potter. George is a hero to many. At the climax of the film, George finds that $8,000 dollers he owes the bank is misplaced by his uncle. Naturally the money falls into the hand of Mr. Potter. Potter, recognizing an advantage, issues a warrant for Bailey's arrest. Relizing the reality of prison George contemplates his options. He pleads with Mr. Potter to help him out. Potter wants noting to do with him. George comes to the conclusion that suicide is his best option. He will be able to support his family with his $15,000 life insurence policy. As George stands on a bridge overlooking an icy cold river his motives are reversed. A man comes from nowhere and makes the plunge before George can. George jumps in to save the man. When the two of them make it to shore we find that the man who jumped first is George's gaurdian angel Clarence. Clarence confesses that he was saving George from suicide. Not the contrary. This is all very strange to George. He tells Clarence about his situation, and in a fit of anger wishes that he had never been born. Clarence, being an Angel, grants the wish. The two go back into town and find that things are now very different in a world without George Bailey. George's family does'nt exsist and the town has been transformed into "Pottersville". Not one person recoginizes who George Bailey is. Finally relizing what the world is like without him, George rushes back to the bridge where he once contemplated taking his life. He pleads with God, asking him for his life back. George is lucky, and he's giving a second chance. He rushes home to find his family who he loves. He also finds a bank examiner waiting to take him to prison. This no longer bothers him though. George has a wonderful life, and he knows it. When the town finds out that George is in trouble, they rush together and collect the $8,000. George is free, the warrent for his arrest is destroyed and the $8,000 retured to the bank. George and his family have a happy Christmas together and everyone lives happily ever after. The final message of the film is given by Clarence the Angel, he tells us that "No man is a failure who has friends".
"It's a Wonderful life" can teach us many things. My hope is that everyone in the world will relize that they too have a Wonderful life. The Wonderful Life Campaign will be raising money to help out those who might need a little help this holiday season. We hope that many will see this campaign as an oppertunity to give of themselves. Through giving we can understand our own self-worth. We can all be George Baileys. The campaign is small at the moment but more is to come. Please become a friend of the campaign and we can all do something great together. Stay posted for more updates and schedulals.
Thank you, The Wondeful Life Campaign
